Lucy Hammerton

I think my first word was dog! I grew up surrounded by dogs we always had a multi dog household 14 at one point! and years breeding and rearing puppies after working in management for years I decided to turn my passion for dogs into more of a career and wanted somewhere dogs could exercise all year round based on the idea of the doggy daycares in America paws was born. I have since taken dog training courses and a level 3 through imdt to further my knowledge. Having had dogs of my own I know how important your fur babies are to you which is why I’m dedicated to making our facility and our staff the best in taking care of them

I love working with dogs and have worked with them for the past 8 years! I have previously worked in a boarding kennels, and for the dogs trust where I completed various courses on training and recently worked in a large doggy day care in London, I also have a level 3 diploma in animal management and have two shihtzus of my own.

I’m currently studying an Advanced Diploma in Dog Behaviour and Career Training Level 3. I rescued a Husky and has built a relationship with her and helped her overcome her behavioural issues. Rescuing her dog helped inspire me to pursue working with dogs and Paws has given me the opportunity to do this.

I’m Jess our general manager, i have extensively studied animal care up to Bachelors Degree level. I have worked closely with The Guide Dogs for The Blind from a young age, and it was there i discovered my love and passion for dogs. Ive owned various breeds of dog throughout my life and im a qualified pet first aider. Jess was a busy dog walker and pet sitter before her role at Paws.
